a single person who bought a PS3 for LBP - but I know at least 3 people (two of which are PS3 owners) that bought 360 for Gears.
I also know two xbox owners that will buy a PS3 for KZ2 ....

Remember though, that when Viva was first released the xbox was still priced high, and didn't really have much to show for itself at the point.
The point here is that regardless of what M$ and Sony want to do with the casual gamers, most of them have already got a wii. And Wii sales are going nowhere but up and up.
The kind of people that buy PS3 are the kind of people that But games like R2, KZ2, MGS4 etc ... LBP just isn't a hard core game.

It's for kids. I work in a software firm where most of the developers, engineers and support staff have PS3's .... and the ONLY people who have bought LBP are the ones with kids ... I just don't know anyone that's dead keen on it.

Whereas LBP MGS4 and Resistance ALL carried the title of Xbox Killers.

@Mike - calling gears 2 a flop is like calling MGS4 a Flop. Gears 2 is certainly no flop.
